Mad Ego Minds

Dust rises from battered buildings, smoke filthiest the skies
As blood drips through the rubble, where the bodies lie
Mothers for their children search, with screeching cries
Finding bodies torn apart, and the vultures start to fly

The innocent victims of these senseless, murderous wars
Only ever the games of those who greed for more and more
Be it belief or wealth or ego or just some unwritten law
That the mightier is stronger, living it to their core

Surely by now, after so many years of fighting and loss
These morons would have learnt this irretrievable cost
To live in freedom warm, fearlessly from the frost
Scattered by the mad ego minds, caring not for the lost
